I wonder...
what American Society would be like if we all read the Federalist papers. Some of these arguments just seem to be the sames ones we're going through today. Some of the answers seem very intelligent. Of course, my founder fan professor has stated that each generation revisits the founders and asks them to answer the questions that plague that generation. Is this effective, are the answers received? Is it effective, are the problems solved?
I strongly believe that a system, government included, should be able to evolve and adapt to current circumstances and that they do to some extent. However, stability is also important. Again my mind returns to the balance argument. Attending a school with a tradition-laded culture, I seriously question the use of some of the silly things we do. Perhaps, we are not visibly held back back these traditions, but what could we accomplish if we didn't have them? What our campus look like if change didn't bring accusations of bad school spirit?
Another day, another method of procrastination. One paper down, one to go. I'm afraid I'm going to have to cut some of my argument though... I could just go through and make my writing more concise but that's silly.
